Edition #62 Notes

For the first time ever, I've teamed up with a Fair Lawn artist to design a Bookhead Club edition. Meet Jeanyn Caro, a Filipino-American illustrator and textile designer who grew up down the road from where Dapper Notes are currently being made. Her work is themed around whimsy and pays close attention to everyday – often overlooked – facets of life. She has a wide library of gorgeous pattern work that is worth perusing.

For our collaboration, Jeanyn illustrated a cross section of a house where you can look into the rooms, like a more fleshed out doll house. The house motif repeats in a lot of Jeanyn's work, and reflects her love of observing the way people are evident in their spaces. The house in our notebook design was based off of a sketch of the painter Fitz Henry Lane's house in Gloucester, MA.

Most Dapper Notes covers are made using fabric, which naturally frays with use. Each material behaves differently, and this meter will help you gauge how much fraying to expect from your notebook. Read more about fabric covers

Each notebook is packaged with a coordinating rule/bookmark with the cover design on one side, and the packaging pattern in pink on the reverse. A simple sticker of the cover design is also included with each notebook.

Extra peek

Inside the notebook – on the pages where you'd typically spot a ruler – Jeanyn painted a new cross section house view in a completely different style, giving us two unique artworks for this collaboration. I personally love how the different perspectives and styles are reflective of how each person experiences a place differently.
