Edition Notes

Hoa Nguyen is a watercolor artist from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She crafts enchanting worlds with delicate watercolors and whimsical characters. Her drawings evoke instant nostalgia, blending softness and charm for timeless, dreamlike scenes. Hoa has illustrated many things for Dapper Notes over the years, and you may have seen her work in the forms of stickers, a poster, washi tape, and cat stickers.

For the first illustrated core collection edition, I used Hoa's illustration of a child marching down a path of foliage alongside their pet duckling. There's a sweet energy and brightness to this illustration, and the linen fabric came out saturated with lovely colors.

Fray level: Normal

Most Dapper Notes covers are made using fabric, which naturally frays with use. Each material behaves differently, and this meter will help you gauge how much fraying to expect from your notebook. Read more about fabric covers

Dapper Notes pocket notebooks are presented in a handmade die-cut box packaging. It opens like a flower, and feels like a gift, and can be opened and closed, and used for archiving your notebook when it's filled.

Forward bound forward

I've carried two designs as "core" editions for a few years now, meaning they're a design that I keep on making indefinitely. Both editions echo materials from the very early days of Dapper Notes, in the form of a cork cover and a striped fabric. I've been wanting to add a third design into the core rotation, one that echoes more of the illustrated and artist-made designs that feature in my more recent work.
